SENIOR RESOURCE COMMITTEE
The committee works to publicize the Area Agency on Aging's SENIOR HELPLINE and to encourage the public to use the service. The SENIOR HELPLINE serves Pasco and Pinellas counties. The phone numbers are: 1-800-96-ELDER (1-800-963-5337). This committee also oversees the Elves for Elders project each holiday season. For inquiries from outside the area call 727-217-8111. PUBLIC SPEAKING & NETWORKING
The Public Speaking & Networking Committee operates the Speakers Bureau for BLS. They maintain a list of qualified speakers on various subjects available to meet requests from the community. They also conduct the Chomp N' Chat networking breakfasts.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
BLS Professional Development (ProDev) Committee focuses on providing
growth and development opportunities for BLS members. Annually, we host
the BLS May Quarterly Breakfast Consortium meeting, provide one (1) CEU
healthcare related educational event and one (1) (non-CEU) educational
event for members. RN nursing scholarships are awarded every year to 2
students at St. Petersburg College. Two additional sub-groups provide
benefits to members (see below). Visitors and potential members welcome
to check out and join our super professional development team.

BLS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
SUB-GROUP: PROFESSIONALS IN TRANSITION (PIT)
If you are unemployed, underemployed and thinking about a work transition you are welcome to join our support group, member or non-members. As an active monthly member of our PIT group, free BLS membership for 6 months is extended. What a perk! This is not a committee. This group is all about assisting those in transition whatever way we can. Phyllis Bracken, Marketing, Oak Manor volunteers to assist in resume writing with her extensive background in Human Resources. We had 2 new members in March.
Employers with any openings are encouraged to let PIT know about your needs and we will initiate a blind email to our group. If an employer has a desire to attend our meeting and briefly share with us what they are looking for, please call Ginny. Thank you.

Sub-group Professionals in Transition (PIT)
This committee oversees all activities that relate to the growth of the membership of the organization.
- Assisting with the administration and tracking of membership and payment of dues;
- Handling registration and collection of donations and non-member/guest fees at BLS events;
- Welcoming new members through the Ambassadors Program;
- Coordinating New Member receptions;
- Reporting changes in the industry in the BUGLE;
- Selecting and interviewing members for the Member Spotlight in the BUGLE; and
- Assisting with the annual Member of the Year Awards.
The Ambassador program and New Member receptions are designed to welcome new members into the organization. Ambassadors are available to answer questions and provide helpful information to making the most of membership for new members.

The Communications Committee is responsible for the creation and production of The BUGLE/Newsletter, a publication of BLS. It is also responsible for the content and maintenance of this website.
Social Media for BLS, including photos of major events, also falls
under Comunications. We put together the August Consortium and are
responsible for the Events Calendar and e-mail blasting of events.
