The Mental Health Awareness Committee invites you to be part of our dedicated & mutually supportive team.  This committee plays a critical role in raising awareness on the unique mental health challenges faced by older adults. Our goal is to share resources and best practices to ensure our area seniors receive the support they need to thrive.

This month we’re focusing on Empathy—how understanding emotions, perspectives, and lived experiences can strengthen the connection between seniors and caregivers. We’ll explore what empathy looks like in real moments and how simple, intentional practices can make a meaningful difference in emotional well‑being.

The Mental Health Awareness Committee will explore empathy by helping seniors understand what empathy is, how it shows up in daily life, and why it plays such an important role in emotional connection and overall well-being. Together, we will look at recognizing emotional cues in ourselves and others, understanding different perspectives, and identifying barriers that may make empathy challenging.

We will also be discussing exciting plans for our May consortium. We are hopeful that all of you will provide your thoughts and feedback.

You’ll receive the Zoom link once you’ve registered. Please invite your colleagues.
